Upon purchasing EEVEE+CYCLES MATERIALS, you will be directed to a web page where you can register by filling out a form. Once registered, you will receive credentials to log in to a Google Drive repository. From there, you can select and download zipped files, which you’ll need to unzip and place into a master folder, as detailed in the Kit Ops documentation.

There are several compelling reasons for this process. Files are regularly updated, and you can easily retrieve the latest versions by checking the “date modified” list within your Google Drive folder. Alternatively, if you have the Google Drive desktop extension, you can configure it to selectively sync only the EEVEE+CYCLES MATERIALS Master folder. This system significantly simplifies file management, preventing the overwhelming complexity that can quickly arise with numerous files. Google Drive streamlines the process for everyone, particularly if you want to stay current with new and modified files.

To use

First, select the object(s) you want to add a material to.

There are many KPACKS that come bundled with the System as shown above. Next, select a KPACK by clicking in the KIT OPS dropdown KPACK selector.

Next, click the thumb of the KPACK and choose a material (material icons may change with newer version of KIT OPS)

Then just press the Add Material button on KIT OPS.

Tips and Techniques

When you add a material to an object, Kit Ops first checks if that material already exists in your scene. If it does, Kit Ops uses the existing material, which helps optimize scene materials. However, if you specifically want to add a new instance of a material, you can do so by holding down the Control key when you click “add material.”

Additionally, if you add a material to the scene when no object is selected, the material will still be added to the scene.

Extra Utils

Kit Ops Pro comes with an additional add-on called “extrautils” that offers several useful functions.

Clean Up Dupe Materials - finds duplicate materials by name, remaps their users and removes those duplicates. For instance: if you have a material gold and you duplicate it by copy/pasting or bringing it in from Asset Browser then you will have a new material gold.001. Remap Material Images - finds duplicate images (in materials only) by binary checksum and remaps their users. This means even if an image in a material is named differently, if it is identical, it will be remapped. Delete Unused Images - finds the material only images which now are orphans (0 users) and deletes them. Typically you use this after Remap Material Images. Purge Recursive Data Blocks - will purge from the scene any materials that aren’t being used. Saves memory.
